3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked service may not be used to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate. West Virginia law places specific restrictions on misuse of West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry information, and violations can bring criminal consequences. Registry access supports public-safety awareness, never vigilante conduct or discriminatory action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer, credit, or official background reports. Our advertising partners do not offer their tools here for applicant, housing, insurance, or credit screening. Site or linked-tool data must not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A regulated check must come through an authorized official process or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA. WVSP CIB controls West Virginia criminal-history dissemination under W. Va. Code §15-2-24.
